About:
Janneke van den Biggelaar - Story Artist from Amsterdam, the Netherlands.
As a child I've always loved to draw and tell stories. Then during my teens I started getting into comics and mostly getting into drawing my own comics. Through the internet I met other like-minded people and together we started a comic collective called "neutral". Over a span of about 10 years we self-published over 15 comics.
In the meantime I went to art school to get my bachelors in Animation. I graduated as a traditional 2D animator in 2012. That's when my career as an animator started, all while part-time working at a 'after school daycare center' for kids aged 4 to 12 - I did this for 9 years.
In 2017 I decided to take the leap into storyboarding by going to the Animation Workshop in Viborg, Denmark. The 3 month professional course taught me all the valuable lessons to be a storyboard artist. I got classes in boarding for tv animation, feature and live action.
I've been working as a storyboard artist since 2018 and have been working on exciting projects ranging from tv animation to live action and feature animation.
In 2020 I took Matt Jones' summer class and had a mentorship with Dirk van Dulmen. In 2021 I got accepted to the WIA mentorship group "growing your story career" with Tamara Lusher.
